Our State Fair is also a great state fair!

We went to the Evergreen State Fair today. This was the first time in about ten years that I had been to a state fair.

(The last time being freshman year of college at the Texas State Fair in 100 degree heat!)

It was a cheap way to get a days worth of excitement. We had a blast too! 

This was the main reason I wanted to go to the fair...To see all the animals! I can't tell you how happy it made me to walk through the barns, smelling that special smell, and see all the beautiful animals. The babies were the best though and I wanted one of each. Scott said no. I dream of the day I have a farm (yeah, right) where I might have a chicken or two and some baby piglets running about. 

We were there for all of five minutes when Scott started having heart failure..."They have Elephant Ears!" he exclaimed over and over. So we had an elephant ear. Which made Scott very happy. (It was my first one ever and although good I don't see what all the fuss was about.)

There was so much to see...
We walked around for hours looking at displays, canned goods, quilts, plants, rides, poodle puppets, stupid people.
It was great!

We even saw Elvis!!!

All is quiet here. Nothing to report. 

Just another lazy Sunday...

This morning we went to a local trail so that Scott could do his 8 mile run for the week. His marathon training is in full swing now.

I walked 2 miles and waited around for him while watching passing bikers and people walking their furry babies.

On our way home we swung by a nice ladies house who had seen my ad on the internet asking for book dontaions. She gave me two big boxes and then some! More books for BookCrossing! 

We had our second Grey School meeting tonight.

It went very well. We got a lot done and had plenty of time to socialize. 

Afterwards, Scott and I went to a fun little 50's style malt shop called Johnny Rocket's.

Much food and fun was had while we sat at the counter and swiveled in our red plastic chairs.

What a great day!

Pirate Attack!

She was pretty small but still impressive.
