Goodbye 2007, Hello 2008

(a few favorite 2007 moments caught by my camera)

In a few hours 2007 will come to a close. It's hard to believe that the year is over.

No matter how time may seem to drag at moments it's always a suprise to find it has flown by.

So, How did I do on my 2007 resolutions?

1 Finish a half marathon- My health prevented me from doing this. However, I’m going to try again next year!

2 Get my health issues taken care of-Still working on it but I’m getting closer to a final treatment. By this time next year I hope to be as healthy as I can be.

3 Lose weight- I lost a few but gained back twice as many. After all my visits with the doctor I found out this is less my fault and more the fault of my illness. Once I’m fixed I’ll have better success.

4 Get a furry baby- I love my cat so much!

5 Complete my first year of Grey School- Done! I’m already into my second year!!

6 Visit my family in California- Not once but twice!!!!!

7 Read 50 books I’ve never read before- I finished my 55th book before today (Dec 31st). This is the most books I have ever read in a year.

8 Move closer to work- Nope-I don’t think that this is going to ever happen :( I’ll keep dreaming though.

9 Experience more of the Seattle area- We did a good job of this. I still have a few locations on my list but overall we made a real effort to get out this year.

10 Be Happy-This is always on my list of resolutions. I have had some very happy moments this year and I hope to increase this number each year.

New Year's Resolutions for 2008

1. Get serious about living healthy-Join Weight Watchers, Eat healthier, do another fast food fast, go to the gym, ect....

2. Finish a half marathon- Also would like to do another 5k for charity

3. Pay off my extra bills- Medical, DVD club, ect...

4. Go Camping/Hiking- It's been almost two years!!

5. Take some classes- For credit or not... It doesn't matter I just need to get out there and learn something new

6. Donate more to charity-Time, money, stuff....Anything! I feel it's important to my personal growth.

7. Improve my space-It may be as simple as keeping things cleaner or as drastic as moving...Something has got to change. I want to want to come home and to feel happy and comfortable when I'm there.

8. Meet new people-I need to get out there and meet more "like minded" folks. Right now my social meter is really low!

9. Go on a cruise-I know it's a far fetched dream but maybe if I put it out there............

10. Be happy-This is always on my list. I am making a real effort to focus on the happy times and to allow the bad to slip away from my mind.

There you are....Out with the old, in with the new.

I hope everyone has had a good 2007 and may your 2008 be the best year of your life thus far. Happy New Year!

Christmas this year was so, ummmmmm, special.... I decided that it was best just to show a slideshow. So, here 'tis.....Merry (late) Christmas!

So....I went for a little plane ride.

First, my plane was delayed 30 minutes...Then 50....Then 60....Then when it came in they started loading passengers only to begin unloading them....They told us to go to a different terminal...The plane took off almost two hours after it was supposed to.

Second, when I got to Sacramento I found out that my luggage had been "inspected". This means they unwrapped all the gifts I had inside, balled up all my nicely folded clothes and dumped out everything that had been inside and then just shoved it all back....Except a few of the gifts...Guess they liked them so much they kept a few. (The worst part was that they were most of Lily's Christmas gifts!)

Third, when I did my return trip I was "inspected" again...just me this time...Dumped out my whole purse, swabbed it out with drug sniffing cotton balls and made me wait forever to make sure I wasn't bringing a bomb on the plane.

Oh! Did I mention my return flight was an hour late? Yay Alaska Air! Way to win a customer for life!!

After 6 months I was able to find a way to buy a plane ticket and go back to Cali to visit Mom and Lily.

After she picked me up at the airport on Friday morning I did something I have never been able to afford...Take my Mom out to a nice restaurant and buy her lunch.

Afterwards we went to pick up Lily from school. The best part was that Lily had no idea I was coming for a visit. When we went in she wasn't looking up and so I called her name and she jumped. She was so excited she almost knocked over the arts and craft table.

It was so great to be able to sit down and have dinner together that evening.

On Saturday we went to the Discovery Science Museum in north Sacramento. It was well worth the $5 we paid to get in too.

They had live animals, stuffed animals, nature trails, robots, a log cabin and a planetarium!

The best part was the nature lecture on porcupines. They brought in the resident one they have in a big cage outside. He's 23 years old and by far the oldest in the world.

After we saw all there was inside we took to the trails...

Just before we left Lily discovered this three sided mirror thing...As you can see this resulted in a great deal more picture taking.

Lily still had to go to school on Monday so Mom and I took the chance to go to the mall. I got my hair cut while we were there (something I have wanted to do for a year or so). They cut off 9 inches and my head felt a lot lighter (like a blonde).

It was great getting to spend Christmas (well almost) with them. I haven't been able to do that in three years!

After pictures and gifts it was off to the airport. Mom said it was the happiest Christmas she has had in a long time. That made me happy too.

All the minor bad things aside it was a nice trip.

The End.

We're all decorated for Christmas now...The cat was less than thrilled to have a tree in the living room.

Attack of the snow...again

It's snowing! It's coming down hard this time. I tried taking Kerwin out in it again but he really disliked the giant snowflake mosnters that were attacking his head over and over. Here we are sad in the snow. Darn you, snowflake monsters!
