Erin, Scott and I went to the Northwest FolkLife Festival today.
(And boy was it cold!!!!)

As usual we had to take a photo break as soon as we got there!Posted by Picasa

We walked around for a while and took in all the sights. I just wanted to shop. Erin was checking out the cute musicians. And Scott was just along for the ride. Posted by Picasa

Mostly we just stuffed out faces...with all kinds of phallic foods!Posted by Picasa

We also watched a few bands, encountered some rude people and saw a lot of furry babies.

What a great time!

As an extra special birthday gift, Scott took us out to Sky City which is at the top of the Space Needle!

We really enjoyed the view, looking out over the water as the sun set.
(Hey! There's my office! Well, the top of it at least.)

While waiting for our dinner to arrive we enjoyed the scenery and great drinks. (I had a ginger martini...which was the best drink I have ever tasted!)

When dinner arrived it was way beyond our expectations. I had a plate of mushrooms in a chile and coffee cream sauce over a bed of coffee flavored noodles. (No-I am not making this up! I don't believe that there has ever been an entree that better represents Seattle.) It was amazing!!

As we revolved the sky grew darker and darker. The city glowed as the trees swayed in the cool evening breeze...Living up to it's nickname...The Emerald City.

After dinner, Scott had arranged that I be served an ice cream desert called a "Cloudy Sundae". It had dry ice in the bottom which billows out clouds of vapor like fluffy clouds!

When we were done stuffing ourselves we went up to the observation deck and looked out over the city. It was a night to be remembered.

We had an amazing time.

So today is my 30th Birthday!

I woke up and had a bit of breakfast with Scott.

Then I opened the gifts that Mom and Lily had sent. It was nice to have gifts to open on my birthday. That's something that has not happened for several years now.

As I drove to work I was glad that the day was clear and a beautiful blue sky hung overhead. It seemed funny, though, that although it is almost the middle of May I was wearing a sweater!

When I got to work one of my bosses had a few more gifts waiting for me. The best of these was a dvd of South Park's greatest hits!!

Mid-afternoon all of my co-workers and I went to lunch at a fancy "mexican" cafe. The food was called "mexican" but it was so city-fied that it hardly qualified to be called anything. Despite this fact, it was good food and lots of fun hanging out with the folks I work with.

Right after lunch I received a delivery...flowers...from Scott!

Erin came by after work and we went to the EMP for happy hour! What made it the most happiest of hours was the fact that we ordered drinks that just happen to match our shirts. After a round of mini hamburgers and creme brule we headed outside for more picture taking...Posted by Picasa

As you can see, we have added some great shots to our modeling portfolio!

When I got home I called my mom to tell her that Scott had finally given me flowers. As some of you already know, this is a very big deal. She was as amazed as I was.

But-Kerwin was not as impressed with the flowers. He just wanted to eat them. :)

After taking a few (dozen) pictures of these amazing buds I fell asleep knowing that my 20's were behind me know and wondering what was next...

What a great 30th Birthday!

The day has arrived...

Well, there is nothing I can do about it now...I'm 30! I can't believe I've gone from this cute little happy baby to what I am now. How did that happen? And, now what????!!!!

We saw Rent tonight. It was not a great show but still very fun and worth going. There were a few outstanding performances and at times it really did what it was supposed to do, touch your heart. My favorite part was the "Cover You" number which, as Scott put it so perfectly, is one of the most romantic love songs ever sung by two men. We also ate sushi at a great little cafe down the street and walked around downtown a bit. I love Seattle. I wish that I lived there. And once again, I thought to myself that today was the last Wednesday I would be in my 20's. I'm still trying to understand that concept. It will happen, sooner rather than later.

Since Friday morning I keep having these flashes when I think to myself...
"This is the last Friday that I'll be in my 20's."
Sort of scarey.
I can not believe that I'll be 30 soon.
I'm not sure how I feel about that but it looks like I have no choice either way.
I have 4 more days to be a 20 something and I'm going to get through them as slowly as possible.
