Day Four: The Big Birthday

Today-Lillian Grace is 9 years old!

We had a very yummy breakfast. We watched Shrek 2. Gifts were opened.

It was a good morning. Posted by Picasa

Afternoon rolled around and we decided we had better get off our butts and go do something outdoors for a while.

So.......

We had to do what all good tourists do...Visit the Space Needle!

I took the crew to Seattle Center to have a little tour. Posted by Picasa

So much to see and so little time... Posted by Picasa

We found more than a few photo opportunities
Along the way! Posted by Picasa

Scott got a little bit lost ... Posted by Picasa

After the tour we went to the Pacific Science Center. Posted by Picasa

The first thing we did when we got there was watch a IMax film in 3D!!

It was quite an experience. Posted by Picasa

Then we did lots of experiments...Climbed walls...Played music...Sailed boats...Cast shadows...drew pictures...hid under giant furniture...

Sooooo much fun! Posted by Picasa

We saw butterflies.... Posted by Picasa

And Dinosaurs!!! Posted by Picasa

After a day of fun we headed off to the pier.

We met up with Erin and ate at the Red Robin down by her work.

The waiters sang Happy Birthday to Lily.

She loved it.

I think she had a good B-day. Posted by Picasa

Day four was the best yet!

It was nice having family here.

I wish that they lived here.

But, now our visit must draw to an end.

I'll miss them very much. Posted by Picasa

(And-I am verrrry tired and having a very hard time putting words together to...yawn...I'm going to bed...Goodnight moon.)

Day Two: Boats and Bridges

Our plan for day two was to take the ferry to Whidbey Island. Then drive up the coast and take a second ferry to this wonderful old town on the other side of The Sound.

Here we are on the first ferry.

This is Lily's first boat ride! She was very excited.

It was a beautiful sunny day...What great weather for an adventure! Posted by Picasa

After driving half way up the island to catch the second ferry...We missed it!

So, we went to Plan B: Visit Camp Casey. This is a retired fort on the coast. It was one of the points being gaurded during WWII. It's a very impressive place. Posted by Picasa

There was a lot to see here.

(I felt a little bad that Scott was not with us. He would have had a lot of fun playing on all the guns and hiding in the nooks and crannies.) Posted by Picasa

After leaving the fort we made our way over to the Admiralty Lighthouse.

It's not in use anymore but it's an interesting landmark to see. Posted by Picasa

Lily and I went to the top!

It was fun.

(And a little scarey!) Posted by Picasa

The last leg of the journey took us over Deception Pass.

It is one of the most visited state parks in the U.S.!

We walked out to the center of the bridge. The view was spectacular. It was worth the drive. Posted by Picasa
